SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 210 (11.31 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XVIII COS III P P, SC in exergue, Roma seated to right holding palladium and spear, before her a kneeling captive, (cf.S.6473, RIC 804, C.551-2). Full flan, slightly off centred on the reverse, dark patination, nearly very fine, a rare type.
