EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy VIII Euergetes, (145-116 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, Alexandria mint, struck year 26 = 145-144 B.C., (13.80 g), obv. diademed head of Ptolemy to right with aegis, rev. eagle to left on thunderbolt with closed wings, to left LKC, to right **PA*, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU**, (cf.S.7908, Sv.1438 (8 noted, Pl.XLIX, 11], Mionnet VI, 12, 107, Hunter 7 [p.932], BMC 125 [p.98], Paphos Hoard 12-13 [p.88, Pl.XVIII, 12 same obverse die]). Very fine or better and very scarce, with uneven tone.
