DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 88-89, (10.91 g), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIII CENS PER P P, rev. around VIRT[VTI] AVGVSTI, Virtus standing to right, holding spear and parazonium, S C across field, (cf.S.2817, RIC 550, L.404-5). Attractive large flan, dark gren patination, nearly extremely fine/very fine, scarce in this condition.
