AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C.-14 A.D), silver denarius, issued 29-27 B.C., Rome Mint, 3.42 grams, RIC 271 (Original RIC 38), C.124, BMC 633, B.163, Ashmolean 233-6, Obv. Augustus head to r. laureate, Rev. IMP CAESAR across field to l. & r. of rostral column surmounted by cloaked figure (of Octavian?), holding spear. Lightly toned, minor scratches, very fine or better, rare, (73).
