ORBIANA, wife of Severus Alexander, (225-226 A.D.), silver denarius, issued 225-226 A.D., Rome Mint, 2.53 grams, RIC 319, BMC 287-290, C.1, Obv. Diademed and draped bust of Orbiana to r., SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG around, Rev. CONCORDIA AVGG around, Concordia seated to l. on throne, holding patera and double cornucopiae. Some mint bloom, nearly extremely fine and rare, (323).

A special marriage issue for Orbiana and Severus Alexander. Orbiana's marriage coinage all appears to be issued at the time of the marriage. Julia Mamaea banished Orbiana, her daughter in law, shortly after when her father was implicated in an attempted coup.
