49th Bn was in 13 Brigade, 3rd (Vic) Military District. 64th Bn from 3rd MD won the Commonwealth Gold Medal so members of K Coy 49th Bn, as runners up in the 3rd MD District Competition, were awarded the District Silver Medal.
