CONSTANS II, (641-668), gold solidus, issued, (4.428 grams), Constantinople mint, Class IV, issued c.654-659, Officina **Q, obv. large crowned long-bearded bust facing of Constans, wearing chlamys and crown with cross on top, Constantine IV on right wearing crown with cross on top, cross in field, around dN CONSTANT[INYS C CONST], rev. Cross potent on globe above three steps, around VICTORIA AVGUZ (Z reversed), in exergue CONOB, (S.959, DOC [25g], BMC 47-48). As struck with original mint bloom, weak in places on legend, extremely fine.
