SICILY, Syracuse, period of Timoleon, (344-336 B.C.), AE litra, (AE 29), (31.085 grams), obv. head of Athena wearing Corinthian helmet to left bound with olive wreath, to left [**S*YRA], rev. starfish between two dolphins with central pellet, (S.1189, BMC 287, SNG ANS 454-469, Weber 1630). Black shiny patina, otherwise very fine and very scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired in York Coin Fair in January 1979.
