THRACE, Panticapaeum, (3rd century B.C.), AE 20, (5.548 grams), obv. head of Pan to left, wearing ivy wreath, overstruck with countermark of star, rev. lion's head to left, **PAN* around, overstruck with bowcase, (S.1701, SNG BM 886-889, BMC 23, SNG Cop. 37-40, SNG Stancomb 554-555). Dark brown patina, host coin very fine, countermarks extremely fine and scarce.
