CILICIA, Celenderis, silver stater, c.450 B.C., (10.634 grams), obv. naked rider with whip in right hand seated sideways on horse prancing to left from which he is about to dismount, A below, dotted border, rev. goat kneeling to left, looking back, above traces of KEA, dotted exergue line, (S.5527, SNG France 47 [same dies], cf.SNG Levante 18, cf.BMC 5). Very fine or better with attractive medium grey patina, very rare.
