INTERNATIONAL QRA MATCH 1889, badge (oval 49x45mm), in silver with gold lettering, features a central shield with Advance Australia arms, this is secured to a voided, oval plate on which the letters are attached individually, pin back, unnamed. Extremely fine.

The International QRA Match was a shooting competition conducted by the Queensland Rifle Association. This International Competition was based on QRA member's birth country of origin and comprised teams representing Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland. The winning team in 1889 was Australia. Those competing were no slouches in the shooting department as two of those competing were Sergeant W.S.Barron who had won the QRA Queen's Prize in 1881 representing C Coy, 1st Volunteer Regt and Sergeant T Grimes who also won the QRA Queen's Prize in 1883 as a member of the same unit, again in 1889 representing C Coy Moreton Regt and for the third time as a civilan representing Queensland English Rifle Club. A similar competition was held in New South Wales conducted by the NSW Rifle Association
