ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE sestertius, (26.08 grams), Rome mint, issued A.D. 144, obv. laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PI VS P P TR P COS III, rev. Salus seated to left, holding patera and feeding a snake from a round altar, around DES IIII, S C in exergue, (S.4171, cf.RIC 754 [dupondius], C.348). Dark black patina, slightly off centred obverse, extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
