PESCENNIUS NIGER, (A.D. 193-194), silver denarius, Antioch mint, (3.08 g), issued 193, obv. laureate head of Pescennius Niger to right, around IMP CAES C PESC NIGER IVST [AV], rev. around IVSTITIA AVG, Justitia or Providentia facing head to left, holding scales and cornucopiae, (cf.S.6114, RIC 45a, RSC 43). Some surface roughness otherwise good very fine and very rare.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 41 (lot 2261).
