GROUP OF FOUR: Egypt Medal 1882-89, (1882 dated reverse), - clasp - Tel-El-Kebir; Khedive's Star 1882; Egypt Medal 1882-89, (undated reverse), - clasp - Suakin 1885; Khedive's Star 1884-6. 33. Pte G.Trendle. 15th Co C. & T.C. on first medal, second medal unnamed as issued, 32. Pte G.Trindle. N.S.W.Amb:Corps. on third medal, last medal unnamed as issued. Both named medals engraved, note misspelling of surname on second medal. Court mounted, first and third medals with contact marks, otherwise very fine.

Together with Lord Mayor of Sydney Soudan Medal, reverse inscribed, 'Geo. Trendle'; Account Book of No.32 Private G Trendle, printed by Govt Printer in 1880 and with hand-written entries relevant to Trendle's service with NSW Ambulance Corps; Parchment Certificate of Discharge dated 3 July 1885; hand-written reference for Trendle dated July 20th 1885 by his Brigade Major; Marriage Certificate dated 25 July 1886; Certificate of Membership number 40206 of RS&SILA dated 8.6.1921; Certificate of Service with New South Wales Government Railways and Tramways Locomotive Branch.

Served in Egypt in British Army with 15th Coy Commissariat & Transport Corps. George was born in the Parish of Islington near the town of London, County of Middlesex. During his term of service with the British Army, Trendle served a total of six years in India, four months in Egypt and one year eight months in England. He was married on 25 July 1886 and gave his occupation as quarryman. He applied on 20 July 1885 at Sydney for Special Service in Egypt at the age of 28 and gave his occupation as mason and his address as Kent St, Sydney.

Only 37 Egypt Medals awarded to NSW Ambulance Corps. A rare group of two Egypt pairs to one person.
