View of Vigo Bay, with the French and Spanish ships ablaze, captured within the bay, around CAPTA ET INCENSA GAL ET HISP CLASSE, in exergue AD VIGUM XII OCT MDCCII, (Eimer 395, MI ii 236/18, Betts 97). Attractive steel-grey with old collectors patination.

A very scarce and very popular issue commemorating the British blockade of Vigo Bay and the capture of the Spanish and French treasure fleet.
