Paul Tate Coates, labourer, age 26, born at Mt Morgan, Qld; Enl.19Oct1914 at Rockhampton, Qld; Emb.22Dec1915; landed at Gallipoli 25Apr1915; sick with bronchitis 21Jun1915; rejoined Battalion at Gallipoli 28Jul1915; to hospital sick 05Sep1915; to England 18Sep1915; to France 14Aug1916 and rejoined Battalion in field 30Sep1916; sick on numerous occasions and finally repatriated to Australia for home service; Emb.25Aug1917 arrived 07Nov1917; Disch.28Nov1917 as Medically Unfit; died at Emergency Hospital, Brighton, Vic 08May1919 most probably due to hardships on Gallipoli and in France.
