L. MARCIUS PHILIPPUS, (c.56 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.96 g), obv. Ancus Marcius head to right, AN[CVS] and lituus, dotted border, rev. [PHILIPPVS] behind equestrian statue to right on an arcade of five arches, within A Q V A MAR, flower below horse, (S.301 Cr.425/1, Syd.919a, B.Marcia 29). Off centred on reverse, attractive dark patina, good very fine/nearly extremely fine.
