DIOCLETIAN, (A.D. 284-305), gold aureus, issued 290-2, Antioch and Cyzicus mints, (5.26 g), obv. laureate head of Diocletian to right, around DIOCLETIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. around COS III, Diocletian on horseback to right, raising right arm, (S.12516, Cal. 4445, RIC 250, 287, C.54). Broad flan, nearly as struck, extremely fine and very rare.
