AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Lyons mint, issued 15-13 B.C. (3.60 g), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around AVGVS[TVS DIV]I F, rev. IMP X in exergue, bull butting to right, (S.1610, RIC 167a, C.137, BMC 451). Deep toning, off centred on the obverse, otherwise good very fine or better and rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 66 (lot 3545). The bull is symbolic of the dominant power of Rome, especially in Gaul.
