COMMODUS, issue in honour of Marcus Aurelius, (A.D. 180-192), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 180, (2.400 grams), obv. laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around DIVVS M ANTONINVS PIVS, rev. around CONSECRATIO, eagle standing left on thunderbolt head right with spear in beak, (S.5976, RIC 271 [Commodus], RSC 82 [Aurelius]). Nearly extremely fine and rare.
