PHILIP I, (A.D. 244-249), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 247, Ludi Saeculares (Secular Games) issue, commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Rome, (4.01 g), obv. radiate bust to right, around IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, rev. elephant walking to left bearing driver, around AETERNITAS AVGG, (S.8921, RIC 58, RSC 17). Toned, mild surface pitting, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce.
