MARK ANTONY AND OCTAVIA, (40-32 B.C.), silver cistophorus, Pergamun mint, issued c.39 B.C., (11.36 g), obv. laureate head of Mark Antony to right, around M ANTONIVS IMP COS DESIG ITER ET TERT, rev. Octavia head to right on cista mystica between two interlaced serpents, III VIR R P C around, (S.1512, BMC 133, B.60, Syd. 1197). Off centred reverse, nearly fine and rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3755) and the D.J.Foster Collection.
This issue was probably struck to commemorate the marriage of Mark Antony and Octavia.
