SICILY, Syracuse, Hieron I, (478-466 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, 24.5mm, (17.01 g), struck circa 478-475 B.C., obv. charioteer driving quadriga to right, above, Nike flying right, crowning horses, rev. diademed head of Arethusa to right with four dolphins around, around **S*V RAK O**S*I O N, (S.914 var., Boehringer Series IXa, 202 (V89/R140); HGC 2, 1306). Good very fine, lightly toned and rare.
