LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), AE dupondius, Rome mint, issued December 168-January 169, (11.57 g), obv. laureate head of Lucius Verus to right, around L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. around TR P VIIII IMP V COS III, SC across, Abundantia, or Annona, standing left, holding roll over full modius on ship's prow, and oar, (S.-, RIC 1489, C.326). Deep green patina, good very fine and very rare.

Coins of Lucius Verus bearing his ninth tribunician year are rare as they were issued for approximately one month, prior to his death.
