INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION MELBOURNE, 1875, Philadelphia, 1876, in bronze (69mm), (C. 1876/6), obverse, O.R.Campbell. Des. - J.Hogarth. Fec. in line above exergue, below Stokes & Martin - Melbourne, impressed on obverse 'Melbourne. 1875' and impressed at top edge with first two letters of surname covered by a fitted suspension loop 'John (Ro)sier'. One time cleaned, fine - very fine.
At the exhibition in Department XII - Boots and Shoes, John Rosier, 46 Swanston Street, Melbourne won first prize. In awarding the medal judges stated, 'Highly artistic and beautifully made, equal to anything of the kind from the West End of London.'
