THRACE, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.74 g), obv. large head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right **HRAKLEOUS*, to left **SWTHROS, below **FASIWN, MH monogram to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1040-1045). Good metal, well centred, crude style, very fine or better.
