CARACALLA, (198-217 A.D.), silver antoninianus, issued 217 A.D., Rome Mint, (5.05 g), obv. radiate bust, draped and cuirassed to right, of Caracalla, seen from behind, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. P M TR P XX COS IIII P P around, Sarapis, modius on head, standing to front head to left, raising left hand and holding sceptre and in right hand a wreath, (S.6780, RIC 289f var., BMC -, Specimen Lawrence Colln. & Paris, RSC 383). Bright, slightly short on flan, extremely fine, scarce.
