Herbert Charles Watson, labourer, age 28, born at Port Adelaide, Sth Aust; Enl.27Jul1915 at Keswick, Sth Aust; Emb.29Apr1916; to hospital in Egypt with VD 11Aug1916; returned to duty 22Sep1916; WIA 09Jan1917 GSW head and right foot, El Arish with Anzac Mounted Div; Invalided to Australia 08Mar1917; arrived at Adelaide on 04May1917 to a 'Heroes' welcome along with other invalided home Light Horsemen as well as some officers and soldiers from other units; Disch.06Jun1917 Medically Unfit; Died at hospital 12Jun1949 at the age of 59 and his remains were interred in the A.I.F. Cemetery, West Terrace, Adelaide.
