QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 2 reverse with evidence of official date removal), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal. 118 Pte. F.M.Meek, Queensland M.R. Impressed. No ribbon edge bump and scratches on rank, hairlines, otherwise good very fine.

Frederick Maurice Meek, served with 4th (Queensland Imperial Bushmen) Contingent; Emb.18May1900; Entrained for East London 04Jul1901; Frederick Meek joined the Corps of Cattle Rangers at East London 06Jul1901 under the name of Maurice Meek; served as a Ranger until 15Jan1902 when unit was disbanded. The Corps of Cattle Rangers was formed for the protection and safe conduct of captured stock.
