James George Dalliston 5th (Mounted Infantry) Contingent, a 30-year old miner from Victoria, was one of only five selected out of thirty candidates who presented themselves at Coolgardie; contingent comprised 14 officers and 207 other ranks; Emb.06Mar1901; L/Cpl J.G.Dalliston KIA 01Feb1902 at Waterval River, Rolspruit; commemorated on the Fallen Soldiers' Memorial at King's Park, Perth, WA.
