PAIR OF SWISS PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS, early 19th century, with accessories, side lock plates inscribed in stylised script, 'Ruoff a SoLeurs', the top of the barrels at the breech have gold inlaid 'Ruoff' stamps, with fluted walnut stocks, the accessories include pepper box nipple key, two timber and brass ramrods, bullet mould, 7 ball bullets, oil tin, pack of 100 Knall-Zundhutchen (caps), tin for caps with a few caps included, wooden mallet, powder dispenser, metal powder flask, ramrod worm (corkscrew patch puller), all stored in a polished timber case with brass plate on the lid inscribed in Gothic script, 'FT', inside the hinged-lidded case is felt lined with two compartments and fitted to accommodate the pistols and accessories, no key to lock on case and some marks on timber. Very fine.

Martin Ruoff of Soleure (French word for Solothurn) was active 1803-1839. Solothurn is the capital of the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.
