CILICIA, Tarsus, Trajan Decius, (A.D. 249-251), AE 34, (18.65 g), obv. radiate draped and cuirassed bust of Trajan Decius to right, border of dots, around AV KAI **G* MEC KOV **D*EKIOC TPAIANOC, **P P* across field, rev. humped bull kneeling before garlanded altar, behind, upper part of male figure (Trajan Decius?) facing, holding a shield and lance, on the right, Perseus standing left, holding Gorgoneion, harpe and phile over altar, on left, Demeter standing right, pointing two torches towards a high column surmounted by a cultus-statue of Apollo Lykeios holding two wolves, around TAPCOV MH**POPOLEW* C AMK, **G* B across field, (cf.S.4208, SNG Levante 1165, BMC 304). Deep brown patina, porous flan, fine and very rare.
