P. PLAUTIUS HYPSAEUS, (c.60 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.872 grams), obv. Leuconoe draped bust to right, dolphin behind, P. YPSAE. S.C. around, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to left, C. YPSAE. COS/ PRIV in exergue. CEPIT on right, scorpion below horses, (S.376 (£85 VF), Cr.420/2a, Syd.911, B.Plautia 12). Weak in places, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
