NORTH BORNEO, an extraordinary collection housed in a Stanley Gibbons 'Exeter' album No.2898, used (unless noted) issues from 1883, (SG 3 [CV £190]); 1886-7 series (SG 23, 25-27, 30, 32), 4c pink block of 6 mint with top middle stamp one cent in error, (SG 26, 26d, CV £325 for strip of 3, illustrated); 1888-1902 series (SG 36-40, 42a [imperf pair], 42-45, 47, 49, 50(2), [most with black bar cancels]); 1891-2, various surcharges, (SG 55-56, 57 a block of 20 4x5 [illustrated], 63, 64 [2]), 1894 issues (17) various with duplication, perf. varieties etc, most postal used, some scarce); various postcards (6, 2 illustrated and described) c.1893-4, one with 1894 3c blue reply postcard (still attached) franked with a 1c 'Protectorate' overprint issue (SG 127) from Sandakan, dated 25 June 1909; another postcard 1893 1c orange to Germany with additional franked 2c brown tied with Sandakan CDS, another similar 1904 to Ulm Germany; other postcards with 1c/8c 1892 (2), 4c/8c 1895 Provisional to Amsterdam; 1894 $1, $2 (SG 83, 84, CV £105); 1895 surcharges normal usuage (SG 87-91 CV £110); several 4c surcharges 1899; series 1897-1902 various perfs etc to 18c (22); 1901-1905 'Protectorate' series of O/P to $1 with extras (21, all normal usage, except one bar cancel); 1909-1922 series complete mint and mostly used (17), (SG 158-176) with extras also (SG 177-182, 182 illustrated mint this with CV £180) (7), high CV; 1916 red cross 2c - 25c (7), vermillion shade (SG 190, 192-196, 201 illustrated this mint CV £375); 1918 (Aug) 'Red Cross' set complete of 17 to $10, (SG 214-234 CV £1900) with extras (9); 1918 (Oct) red cross set to $10 complete set of 17 (SG 235-252, CV £1100) with extras (4); 1922 Exhibition (3); 1925-8 series to 50c (14) 10c a used pair; 1931 set (SG 295-299, 301, total CV £170); 1939 set to $1; War Tax (2); 1945 BMA set to $2 (15), (SG 303-316 high CV); 1947 set to $5 (15) complete; a good range from 1948 - 1965 Sabah issues with values to $10, and a small range of Postage Due issues to 1930 (10) (SG D5-D61).
