EDWARD VI, (1547-1553), second period, contemporary copy of the base silver shilling, Southwark Mint, mm Y, issued 1549, (6.41 g), (cf.S.2466B, cf.N.1917/2). Large round flan, small attempted piercing on centre of reverse, otherwise nearly fine and rare.

Ex Mark E. Freehill Collection, from Noble Numismatics Sale 65 (lot 797), coming from the H.P. Whittle Collection.
