ANTHEMIUS, (467-472 A.D.), gold solidus, (4.08 g), "Court" style, Rome Mint, struck in 468, obv. D N ANTHE MIVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and round shield decorated with soldier on horseback riding right, rev. SALVS R E[I]P VBLICAE, two emperors, crowned and in military dress, standing facing, each holding a spear and holding between them a globus cruciger, in field between, 'chi-rho' monogram, COMOB in exergue, (S.21613, RIC X 2816; Lacam 61). Holed, very fine, minor scratches, very rare.
