LUCILLA, wife of Lucius Verus, (died A.D.182), AE sestertius, Rome Mint, issued 164-167, (20.67 g), obv. draped bust to right of Lucilla with hair bound up behind head, around LVCILLAE AVG ANTONINI AVG F, rev. VENUS around, Venus standing left, holding an apple raising drapery over shoulder, S C across, (S.5523, RIC 1770). Dark green patination, some surface pitting, very fine or better and scarce.

Ex Triton III, lot 1713 (part) and previously the Collection of Cornelius C. Vermeule III with ticket.
