CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), AE As, issued 203, Rome mint, (7.23 g), obv. laureate bust to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG PONT TR P VI, rev. Dea Caelestis, holding drum and sceptre seated facing head right on lion leaping to right, over water which gushes from rock, INDVLGENTIA AVGG, IN CARTH in exergue, (S.6987, RIC 415c, C 99). Deeply toned, nearly very fine and very scarce.
