GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE sestertius, (16.80 g), issued 241-243, Rome mint, obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Laetitia standing left, with wreath and anchor, around LAETITIA AVG N, S C across, (S.8712, RIC 300a, C.122) (illustrated); another, issued 240, (17.51 g), rev. Concordia seated left with patera and cornucopia, (cf.S8704, cf.RIC 288a, cf.C.64); another, issued 241-2, (20.36 g), rev. emperor standing right, holding spear and globe, (S.8731, RIC 306a, C.254). Toned, fine - very fine, the second coin unlisted. (3)
