ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (380-355 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, **Q*, Fischer-Bossert Group 38, (7.84 g), obv. naked horseman at full gallop on horse to right, below **Q*, rev. Phalanthos riding dolphin left, arm extended, below **[TA]RAS*, (cf.S.337, Fischer-Bossert 575 [obv.V232, rev.R439], Vl.467 [same dies]). Attractive brightness, very fine, rare.
