ITALY, Bruttium, Kaulonia, silver stater, 475-425 B.C., (Kraay chronology), Group E (Noe), (7.90 g), obv. Apollo naked walking to right, before him a small stag standing to right, looking back, KAV behind downwards, rev. stag standing to right, (cf.S.462, HN Italy 2044, cf.Luynes 688, Noe 66 [same dies]). Struck from a rusty obverse die, very fine and rare.
