THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos (323-281 B.C.) gold stater (8.51 g), uncertain mint, probably Byzantium, posthumous issue c.200 B.C., obv. head of Alexander the Great to right wearing horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned, lions head to left, trident in exergue, to right **BASILEOS* to left **DYSIMAXOY* (cf S.6813). Very fine.

Very similar to lot 4073 in Sale 114A.
Trident in exergue was used as, Seyrig suggests, for Byzantium 205-195BC. Lion's head symbol unlisted.
