L CALPURNIUS PISO FRUGI, (c.90 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (4.12 g), obv. Apollo head to right with fillet, three dots behind, dotted border, rev. L. PISO FR[VGI], across below a naked horseman with palm, galloping to right, AP monogram above, (S.235, Cr.340/1, Syd.663-670, RSC Calpurnia 11). Toned, off centred reverse, very fine.
