MARK ANTONY, (32-31 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Mark Antony, (3.33 g), obv. praetorian galley to right with rowers etc., around legends ANT AVG III VIR. R.P.C., rev. legionary eagle between two standards, LEG [XVIII LYBI]CAE around, (S.1479, Cr.544/11, Syd.1240, C. Mark Antony 53). Toned, numerous surface scratches and roughness, fine and very rare.

The Lybicae Legion was apparently named in reference to a victory in Libya. Their denarii are a rare variety.
