SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D.193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 193, (3.51 g), obv. [IMP] CAE L SEPT SEV PERT AVG, head laureate to right, rev. around FIDEI LEG TR P COS, Fides standing to left, holding victoriola and vexillum, (cf.S.6275, RIC 1, RSC 146); Attractive grey patination with an early portrait with straight locks rather than curley hair above the laurel wreath, very fine and scarce.
