GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 240, (3.97 g), obv. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate draped bust to right of Gordian III, rev. P M TR P III COS P P, Gordian on horseback to left holding sceptre, (S.8678, RIC 81, RSC 234). Toned, very fine.
