WAVERLEY PUBLIC SCHOOL, stock prize medal in silver (45mm), by J.Moore, reverse inscribed, 'Waverley/Public School/1891/awarded to/Mabel Jex/For unremitting/energy in Studies'. Nicely toned, uncirculated and rare in this condition.

The distribution of prizes for Waverley Public School for 1891 took place on Thursday afternoon 14 April 1892 and two special prize silver medals were presented by Mrs Allen, secretary of Waverly Public School Board, to Misses Gertrude Hughes and Mabel Jex, for general proficiency and unremitting energy in study respectively.
