FRANCE, Feudal, Bishops of Valence (2) 12th-13th century A.D., silver deniers (one illustrated), obv. +S APOLLINARS, cross pomme with annulet in fourth quarter, rev. +VRBS VALENTIA, winged angel or eagle facing (P d'A 4690, [Pl.CII, 19], Roberts 4782, Metcalf 19-40, [Pl. 2]); Crusader, Antioch, Bohemond III, majority (1163-1201), billon helmet denier, obv. +BOAMUNDUS, helmeted head left, between crescent and star, rev. +ANTIOCHIA, cross pattee with crescent in first angle, Class B or Class C (cf.MPS 65-70a [pp.214-216], Metcalf 368-371, 377-391, [Pls.16]); Crusader, Crete, Dorino (1428-1449), copper fractional coinage, AE 16, obv. dots, representing eagle, rev. cross in inner circle, (Metcalf 1170), rare. Very fine, last very good, all lightly toned. (4)
