QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 3 reverse), - three clasps - Defence of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing's Nek. 47 Tpr: J.Watts. Border M.R. Impressed. Hairlines, otherwise very fine.

Together with British Transvaal War medalet, 1899-1900, in gilt (23mm) (C.1899-00/16), with ring top suspender and ribbon.

Trooper J.Watts confirmed on roll of Border Mounted Rifles. Enl.29Sep1899; Disch.10Oct1900; also served in N.V.C.R. (Natal Volunteer Composite Regiment).
