AFGHANISTAN MEDAL 1878-80, - four clasps - Peiwar.Kotal, Charasia, Kabul, Kandahar. 1441 Private A.Goldwyre, 72nd Highlanders. Engraved. Contact marks, otherwise good fine.

The naming appears to be correct but it is possibly renamed because there was an identical medal along with a Kabul to Khandahar Star, with letter of verification, described in the 'Catalogue of a valuable collection of naval & military medals, orders and decorations, the property of Capt. A.W.Buckingham' sold at auction conducted by Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge on 28 -29 June 1904. Perhaps this is that medal?

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
